Chapter Story

Chapter 2 - Attack of the Goblins
And so our young and bold wizards set forth on their quest. Guiding them through the perils of the world was the dashingly handsome Vlad, who is by no means a vampire! As they approached Fornskogur Forest, it became clear that there was evil afoot.

Area 1

Examine the skeletons near the destroyed building to trigger a cutscene. Then head north along the path. You will encounter your first goblin archer here. Projectiles will knock you on the ground if you have a personal shield active, making archers the most lethal enemy (along with grapplers) for solo players. I recommend finding a fast way of dispatching of them to avoid major headaches.

You will come across a crossroads and a cutscene will trigger showing you goblins running out a cave. Kill the goblins and be sure to grab the Rain magick in the cave. Continue to follow the path across a small stream with some goblins and move on to the next area.

Area 2

Welcome to Veiditorp!

If you look around the village there will be a red herring you can inspect on the fish rack (har har har, get it? red herring? distraction?). Once you get to Gram's Workshop (Games Workshop) a cutscene will trigger and goblin pirates will begin to attack. A new enemy appears here: Goblin Bombardiers. They will throw bombs and when they die, they will drop 4 bombs. Any sort of fire magick will cause the goblins and/or their bombs to explode. So make ample use of it! Also note that the bombs will throw you around, so be careful not to get blasted into the water and drown.

During the battle or after, you can pick up the Warhammer on the anvil in Gram's shop Screenshot.

After the battle, continue north, trigger the cutscene and continue to the next area.

Area 3

Go north until you reach the lumberjack and the troll eating a moose (Moose 2). Trolls can pick you up, throw you around, and otherwise give you a bad day. They are very slow, though, so take advantage.

IMPORTANT: After killing the troll, go near the moose and look right above it. You will see a sword stuck in the tree Screenshot. This is Gram. If you want the Stuff of Legends achievement, you will have to use this sword to deliver the killing blow on a boss about 10 levels in the future. So hang onto this sword!

Now continue east from the hunter and follow the path. You will come across a check point and some goblins and then trigger a cutscene with a Goblin Hood standing on a bridge over a small river.

Goblin Hoods are much more accurate and faster goblin archers, so be careful and use the river to your advantage. Every goblin that steps in it becomes soaked and takes 2x Element lightning damage as well as spreading that lightning to nearby soaked creatures.

Once everything is dead freeze the river and travel north, eventually you'll find some dry land a fallen tree leading to a secret area (Sherlock Holmes 4 ).

Continue north in this secret area and you will find a sword in a stone (very similar to how you got the master sword in a Link to the Past, eh?). This is the Sword of Mastery it shoots elemental beams when you are at full health which do about 450-500 damage each. Not bad. Exit this area and continue east from the Goblin Hood Bridge.

Kill this next group of goblins to trigger a cutscene and then continue north to the next area.

Area 4

You will immediately be pushed into a fight with a bunch of goblins. Use your favorite AoE spells and continue north.

You will fight your first enemy wizard here, the Goblin Shaman. The shaman likes to cast Element water+Element arcane, so put on water resistance (Element shield+Element water+self-cast). You can also use beam logic to try to make the beam explode in the shaman's face. You can cross a lightning beam or a life beam; as long as at least one of the elements is part of the beam, it will explode at the point of beam crossover.

The shaman also likes to use plain old lightning and teleport around randomly. He typically puts up group fire resistance, too.

Since there are so many enemies, I recommend using your AoE spells and crowd control combos (eg: Element earthx4+Element cold+area-cast). And don't forget that you have haste and that your staff may have active abilities!

Once the place is cleared out, be sure to grab the Nullify magick near the starting location of the goblin shaman Screenshot. You can also take the Rod of Emergency Teleport from the shaman if you'd like. Then move on to the next area.

Area 5

There are multiple trolls and goblins in this area and a dead moose to the south east (Moose 3). To the north there is a cave which will spawn another troll; inside the cave is another troll and the Staff of Frost (Sherlock Holmes 5).

When you are done exploring, head north east, kill another group of goblins - this one has a heavy proportion of archers, so be careful. Then move onto the next area.

Area 6

Welcome to your second boss fight, Jormungandr!

Jormungandr will burrow underground and attempt to unburrow underneath you. You can tell where is about to emerge because a fountain of dirt will appear. Quickly move aside when this happens.

When he unburrows, he will lower his head and prepare to lunge at you if you are in range (which is the perfect time to, say, hit him with a Element earthx5 or a beam) or he will spit poison bolts at you if you are too far away. Another humorous way to damage him is to put a shield bubble around his unburrow location (Element shield+area-cast) so he hits his head when he tries to pop out.

After doing this a couple of times, he will burrow and began jumping around the arena trying to ram into you. Just haste yourself and dodge this until he settles down. Alternatively, erect rock walls (Element earth+Element shield+area or direction cast) to protect yourself. For extra effectiveness add Element arcane and/or Element fire to the rock barriers to make them explode on impact and deal damage.

It's also possible to kill him by casting [Meteor Shower] repeatedly and hoping to get lucky with meteor hits.

Once you kill him you are done with this level, yay!
