Threat Levels[edit source]

Oh, hi there, just answered you on my page. --Tiozinho 15:15, 2 February 2011 (PST)

Hey there![edit source]

Hi there, I see you're beavering away on an Elements template. Very nice, I made a quick one at {{Element}}, but yours definitely looks like it should replace it. Please add me on Steam, here and we'll discuss stuff! Smashman 13:33, 30 January 2011 (PST)

C'mon Steam. I'm on now and I've accepted you. – Smashman (talk) 05:51, 31 January 2011 (PST)

Naming of Patches[edit source]

Ok, now that I see your reasoning I agree with the new naming scheme. (Even though "hundreds" does seem kind of optimistic).... --XKCD 11:50, 31 January 2011 (PST)

Yeah, let's hope for the best! It would be kind of unfair to compare TF2 and Magicka, budget and manpower-wise but they seem to be committed to fixing it.. --XKCD 11:55, 31 January 2011 (PST)

Image categories[edit source]

The images that appear as artwork, such as the MeteorShower etc, should be in the cat, Category:Official artwork, because they're definitely not screenshots. I'd be up for [[:Category:Artwork]], if you'd rather. It's up to you. – Smashman (talk) 15:02, 31 January 2011 (PST)

Rewording of Multiplayer[edit source]

Hi, I appreciate your rewording of my poorly written multiplayer article! However it appears that the part where I mention that it is possible to create a password protected server got thrown out. Maybe you could put it back in, in nicer words? Thanks, --XKCD (Talk) 20:03, 1 February 2011 (PST)

Yes, I agree that the patch should not be noted. However the general concept of "there is a way to make a game private" should be included, don't you think? --XKCD (Talk) 01:17, 2 February 2011 (PST)
Cool, thanks! (Nice signature, btw) --XKCD (Talk) 22:36, 2 February 2011 (PST)

Howdy[edit source]

While I am aware those tutorial buttons were already uploaded (and in fact used them as a basis), my purpose was to enable a faster use of them in text that would not disrupt formatting. At the moment the ones currently available are quite large, and so would require specifying a smaller size in each use. However, it's true that the newer images offered little in terms of visual difference. I've updated the two that included shift to save more space, as that's actually something new. The others can be deleted I suppose, I had just included them for clarity and consistency of size. Thanks for your work on here! File:TutCastAOE.png and File:TutCastImbue.png for reference. --Mr. Balls 12:48, 4 February 2011 (PST)

That's a fair point. It just seems that there is no universal nomenclature for spell usage, so I thought perhaps a visual presentation (if properly compact) would be more sensible. In addition, with the elements already represented graphically (as shorthand, understood), it seemed logical to include the spell type in a similar format. I suppose the wiki has progressed too far for something like that to take root, and thus it's ultimately an unnecessary distraction. Just how my mind works. Best regards.--Mr. Balls 12:52, 4 February 2011 (PST)

I'm extremely unfamiliar with the wiki process, but that sounds like a good thing! If there's any help I can render, let me know. --Mr. Balls 13:00, 4 February 2011 (PST)

Done and done. On a practical note, you noticed that I had updated the Khan section of the walkthrough. Most of the information came from the Bosses page, with a small amount added by me and some slight formatting changes. If I feel that it can be formatted even more effectively, which would be directly editing the layout of someone else's contribution, is that advisable? Also, would it be sensible to transfer the information on the Bosses page to each appropriate location in the walkthrough? The alternative would be to remove/transfer any strategy information currently provided in the walkthrough, and replace it with a link to the proper section of the Bosses page. On one hand, it would be nice to avoid redundancy, but on the other, folks using the walkthrough may not really want to be hopping pages to that degree. I suppose the last question is, is there a way to have a section appear in two pages simultaneously, using the same source so updates are synchronized? --Mr. Balls 13:16, 4 February 2011 (PST)
Thanks very much for your help. I'm in the process of a slow playthrough so I can test the various boss strategies posted, and evaluate which ones seem the best suited for an everyday player. I'll be clarifying and updating the current Bosses page with my results, per the request for revision at the top of it. Again, if there's anything I can do, let me know. I'd be more than willing to do any image work needed, in addition to the write-ups and editing.

Please Join New IRC[edit source]

Xinhuan recently reached out expressing concerns and I've taken responsibility in my own hands. Please join the new IRC channel and let's discuss further actions to better the wiki. I've briefly spoken to Smashman but I haven't heard back from him in the last 24 hours. #magickapedia (If you can, get an irc client running and idle 24/7 - or to quickly jump in browser based client
